    Join us Saturday September 14th to paddle the Wabash River.
    We will paddle from just below river mile 289 to river mile 298. We will launch from the Michael Kerns ramp in Tecumseh Indiana. It is an 8.5 mile shuttle to Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute. We will start shuttles at 10:00 with a goal of being on water at 11:00. There are nice sandbars and the site of Fort Harrison ( with a great view of the Wabash Erie canal) which could be possible lunch/ sites.
    If anyone is hungry or needs their whistle wetted we can gather at the Historic Moggers restaurant in Terre Haute after.
    I paddled this section often and there are Eagles, Bea-ver, Herons and Great White Egrets’ amonst the repre-sented wildlife.
    Directions: It is North of Terre Haute east of Indiana 63. From I-70 take Indiana 41 North. At the North side of Terre Haute, just past Maple Ave inter-section, 41 and 63 split. Veer left ( North/West) onto 63 north. Cross Wabash River. Cross 4 roads ( Barn-hart, Bolton, Sandford, Pennington) at 5th road turn right ( East) onto Durkees Ferry Road. Follow to "T" turn right, boat launch will be on left. Michael Kearns. For shuttle to Fairbanks park reverse order. Follow 41 South past Vigo County Court House.In apx. 5 blocks turn right ( West ) on Washington Street. This will take you to the boat ramp in Fairbanks Park.
