TRAINING
- Kayak Skill Class - We offer kayak skill classes for recreational, touring, and sea kayaks, usually in May, June, and August. Check the Calendar for dates. We will have 2 sections in each class to address new paddlers as well as experienced paddlers who have previously taken the introductory class.
- River Rescue Class - the club offers an ACA Accredited L3/L4 River Rescue/Swiftwater Rescue class at least once a year. Check the Calendar for details.
- Canoe Skill Class - We offer introductory canoe skill classes for tandem canoeists upon request.
- Open Water Rescue Class - We offer an open water rescue class for touring and sea kayaks. In this class, people learn assisted and solo techniques to reenter their boats after capsizing away from shore. This class requires a boat with fore and aft flotation.
- Pool Sessions - Pool sessions are held year-round. These are a good opportunity to work rolling, whitewater maneuvers and open water rescues for sea kayaks and recreational boats.
