Eight paddlers headed out to Summit Lake to view the solar eclipse from the water. After hiking, picnicking and viewing a flock of migrating white pelicans, we found a perfect place to view the eclipse.
As the moon moved across the pathway of the sun, everything grew quiet. The sky slowly darkened and we were awestruck by this incredible event.
After the eclipse, we gathered for pizza to get to know our new participants and to celebrate a special spring day on the water.
