On Saturday, June 27, 9 paddlers from central Indiana met for the trip from Waverly to Henderson Ford on White River south of Indianapolis. It was a grey muggy day with the threat of showers. Undeterred, the group set off in kayaks and a canoe at 11:15 am with the river at 5.3 feet. The slightly higher level gave us a nice current with many rocks and logs underwater. Even at this level there were plenty of sandbars for a relaxing lunch. We finished at about 2:45 pm at Henderson Ford bridge without any rain. Sprinkles fell while we loaded up but all parted feeling lucky for a fun day on the river.
