This scenic trip let us paddle through cliff lined sections and enjoy the colorful fall foliage. Due to rain the preceding week, waterfalls were also flowing. Friday, seven paddlers launched from the Laurel Creek Ramp on the Little Sandy River for a 6-mile total out and back afternoon trip. This section is narrow and creek-like in appearance, but no real current due to the dam creating Grayson Lake. Saturday, eight launched from Caney Creek ramp and traveled to Bruin ramp, a total of about 12 miles for an all-day paddle. The weather was very nice. Sunday morning we awoke to a light rain; five launched from Clifty Creek ramp to go up to Grotto Falls and back, a total of about 4 miles. Luckily the rain had nearly stopped by the time we got on the water, and we only had a few sprinkles to contend with.
