Trip Overview: Lake Champlain, nearly 500 sq miles, is often referred to as the “6th Great Lake.” It is located between the Green Mountains to the East in Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains to the West in New York. The area has abundant wildlife and scenic destinations.
The trip will be a combination of State Park camping with paddling day trips as well as, island kayak camping.

Drive to Kamp Kill Kare to launch and leave vehicles – Paddle to Burton Island to camp

Paddle from Burton Island to Knights Island to camp

Day trip paddle to Carry In Bay/ lunch at Hero’s Welcome
Friday July 20
Paddle to Burton Island to camp
Saturday July 21
Depart
Paddle back to Kamp Kill Kare – Lunch in Burlington Lake Shore
Equipment: Sea Kayak, appropriate gear, clothing and safety equipment for variety of weather
Skill Level: Comfortable paddling in up to 2ft waves, wind, distance 10-15 miles
